ACCESSABILITY

chimaera.site is a project that examines how we construct realities.

it is important that the space we’re carving out in the mall is accessible.

if you have questions or would like to request an accommodation that i’ve failed to consider, please reach out at daylynnlambi@gmail.com or send a DM on instagram to @chimaera.site

covid-19 info:

please do not come to the space if you have respiratory symptoms that could be covid or another contagious cold/virus.

we highly encourage/kindly request that visitors wear a mask (N95, KN95, or surgical are best).

this is an easy thing you can do to protect immunocompromised and chronically ill folks, children, elders, and people who are less likely to receive adequate care if they get sick (not just medical care, but things like paid time off) due to systems of oppression.

if you can’t be on board with that, this space may not be for you, and that’s okay.

  • we have N95 and surgical masks available at the door for anyone who does not have one but would like to help us protect our community.

  • we also have hand sanitizer by our entrance, and a sink in the bathroom for hand-washing.

thank you for understanding. <3

for folks with health concerns: please note that the general culture of the mall is not masking.

space info:

the following information is for our specific storefront, and does not necessarily apply to the whole mall.

entrance: our doorway is 72” wide, there are no steps in the space.

seating: our space has a couch and folding chairs. seating is available during workshops, events, and our regular open hours. we encourage folks who are able to sit on the floor for larger events.

wifi: we use the Lloyd Center’s publicly accessible wifi: “Lloyd Center Wi-Fi”.

restroom: our space has a single stall, all gender restroom. the doorway is 36” wide. the restroom is marked as wheelchair accessible, and has a bar on the left side of the toilet. there are several public restrooms accessible throughout the mall.

scents: we use unscented cleaning products in the space. there is both unscented and scented soap in the restroom (the scented bar soap is organic, made by one of our market artists).

sound: we tend to play music in the space, we’re happy to adjust the volume. there is some sound that comes into the space from the ice rink, Hot Topic, and other parts of the mall as well. during some events (such as the drag show) the sound will be reasonable louder, but never so loud as to disrupt folks in the rest of the mall.

lighting: the space has overhead spot and recessed lighting, with some fluorescents. (it also gets a lot of daylight!)

all ages: we are an all ages space! it’s totally fine to bring children to our events and programming. we do ask that everyone in the space maintain a culture of respect for the artwork (not touching, being conscious of your body in space, etc), which may need to be communicated to young folks. thank you!

content: the work/performances/etc in the space were curated with the all ages policy in mind, but some artwork does include depictions of violence or nudity. feel free to reach out in advance if you have questions about specifics.

ASL and other languages: since this is a fully volunteer-run initiative, we unfortunately do not have the funding to provide ASL interpreters or other translation for our events. we recognize and regret that this is an accessibility barrier.

safe(r) space:

we reserve the right to ask anyone who isn’t being respectful or safe to leave.

while we of course cannot eradicate the possibility of conflict or harm, we will not hold space for transphobic, racist, ableist, or other oppressive behavior.

if something happens in the space that concerns you, please speak with whoever is at the market counter, or email daylynnlambi@gmail.com and i will address it.
